Design GalleryAt Wohler Web Works, we try to put our own special imprint on every web site we create. To us, these are more than jobs, they reflect on our company. Shown here are examples of our work, with links to each of the sites so you can get a better view. Note: links to external sites will open in a new window.
Jessi Evans is a massage therapist in Lawrence, KS. Aside from being my wife's therapist, she's also a good friend. When she said she wanted an online presence, I knew I wanted to help. I designed a simple site, with only the essential pages to start. The banner design on the top and bottom were based on a graphic she used on her MySpace page, and the color scheme was selected to give continuity between her MySpace page and the website. A similar graphic was used for her business cards, gift certificates and coupons, which I designed for her as well.
The Kansas International Film Festival board wasn't sure what they wanted for their new site. They only knew that the old one was too busy, too hard to navigate, and too bland. The key word for this redesign was "simplify." Not easy to do considering that the site had multiple "sub-sites" that needed to be themed for filmmakers, film festival goers, and even members of the local Film League. The resulting design incorporates the KIFF's logo of a girl wearing 3-D glasses, repeating the red and blue colors as a theme throughout.
The redesign for the Krystal Energy corporation required only two elements, speed and a clean professional look. The company planned an IPO and needed me to revamp its minimal website to reflect its core mission as well as its professionalism. Utilizing information from the company's existing website, I redesigned the entire site while maintaining the same information. The entire project took less than a month.
The consulting job for McDowell Creek Tourism Association was a lesson in working with a committee. Every detail of the site, from the splash page to the logo design had to be approved by all the members of the association. Each member was given his/her own page on the site and each provided me with as much or as little information as they wanted. Some pages are robust while others are minimal. This is the first page I designed that required a transparency for the main text area (so the colorful background image would bleed through). To my surprise, it did not make it difficult to read the text.
